Upcoming Public Workshops & Special Events

At O’Hanlon Center for the Arts, we emphasize the creative process over product. Our programs encourage exploration, observation, and experimentation—inviting your own perceptions to guide your art.

We gather to discover what’s fresh and surprising within ourselves, and we welcome ideas for new workshops from members and guest facilitators.

About O’Hanlon Center:

In 1942, sculptor Richard (“Dick”) O’Hanlon and painter Ann O’Hanlon purchased a former dairy farm on Throckmorton Avenue, transforming it into their home and studio. As Professors of Art —Richard (Sculpture) at UC Berkeley and Ann at Dominican College—they began attracting students and fellow artists, cultivating a thriving arts community on the property. In 1966, the Mill Valley Public Library commissioned Dick to create a sculptural grouping for its new library on Throckmorton, which remains in place today. In 1969, their organization was named Sight and Insight Art Center, eventually to be renamed the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts in 2004 to honor its founders.
