Teen Art Camp 2023 for 13-17 year olds

Plenty of freedom for teenage artists to discover and create.

August 7 – 11, 2023

9:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each day

$550 per student per week – 20% off for OHCA family members.
Includes all materials and 2 snacks/day


12 Students Maximum

Many mediums will be explored:

• Photography
• Ceramics (hand building and wheel)
• Painting
• Collage
• Printmaking
• Sculpture
    and MORE!

There is plenty of freedom for students to discover and create.
O’Hanlon Center is in a quiet nature filled property full of inspiration.

ABOUT THE TEACHERS

Jackie La Lanne

Jackie La Lanne retired at the end of 2021 from over 30 years teaching art in the Mill Valley School district. She is currently Board President of of O’Hanlon. She graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio Art and a Masters Degree in Art Education. She loves teaching art and making photographs, which she says have a lot in common: discovering, making, envisioning, sharing, and having fun. La Lanne, who can often be found in the artroom wearing the earrings she made from her old bike lock keys, has been teaching elementary art curriculum in Mill Valley public schools for many years. She is an accomplished artist, teacher, and photographer and has created wonderful collaborative textile projects for her five grandchildren.

Laurel Shear

Laurel Shear lives and works in the California Bay Area. She opened her first New York solo show, Daydreaming In My Nightmare, at Fort Gansevoort in March 2018. Recent exhibitions include Right Here Right Now, Richmond Art Center and NIAD (Richmond, CA) My Silences Had Not Protected Me, For Freedoms, Fort Gansevoort, (New York), Where Dreams Come True, TSA LA (Los Angeles), Push, Incline Gallery (San Francisco). She is a former member of the artist run gallery Tiger Strikes Asteroid in Los Angeles. Press for her work includes Artnet, New York Magazine, Brooklyn Magazine, and Luxe Magazine, among others. She facilitates drawing and painting workshops at O’Hanlon Center for the Arts and serves on the Board. Shear was a competitive cheerleader, she’s an energy medicine practitioner, and a proud mama.  www.laurelshear.com

Charlie Freiburger

Charlie Freiburger is a local artist from Marin County who specializes in music and pottery. He is a graduate of Tamiscal High School and will be studying ceramics next year. Wood-fire pottery is of particular interest to him and he has taught ceramics at various studios around the Bay. Charlie plays bass in a local band called Everything and also records his own music; both of which can be found online.
