Collaborative Collage Workshop: Twelve Things w/ ERIN WHEELER

January 29, 2023 @ 10:30 am - 1:00 pm

This Workshop Registration is Closed.

An opportunity to make collages in collaboration and in community

Each participant will be asked to bring twelve collage items to share with the group. Examples would be twelve pieces of paper cut from a larger sheet of paper, twelve postcards, twelve images cut from other sources, twelve piece of a discarded print or painting from your discard stack.

You could, for instance, take three 9 x 12 watercolor paintings you’ve made that didn’t fully satisfy, and cut them into quarters. Or pieces of drawings from your sketchbooks…or things you found at the recycling center. So many ideas!

There is no size requirement but paper that is between 4×4 and 12×12 is a nice guideline. Erin will give demonstrations on composition, gluing, ways to select and combine papers, and ideas for further work.

Through the process of using unexpected materials, we will learn new things about composition and color and having many chances to share and connect with each other.

Workshop time, 2.5 hours.
