DESCRIPTION:Lose yourself in the philosophy of seeing the Perfection in the Imperfection. \n\nSunday\, August 13\, 2023\n1:00 pm to 3:00 pm \n$40\, $32 OHCA Members\nMaterials fee: $2 (paid to Facilitator) \nMaximum 12 people\nmust register by Aug 13 noon \n  \nWelcome to the world of the Japanese aesthetic of wabi sabi.  We will create insightful pieces of wabi sabi art using natural materials\, as we lose ourselves in the philosophy of seeing the Perfection in the Imperfection. \nThis session\, we will be focusing on Paper. We will create light playful meaningful paper forms\, including how to fold tsuru – paper cranes – a global symbol for peace\, hope and remembrance. \nIf you wish\, bring some item or a saying that is personal\, to integrate into your artwork. Participants are encouraged to pay attention to what you see\, accept the marks you make\, explore\, experiment\, and discover your unique form of creative expression. \nA simple prompt or exercise is given at the beginning of class. Participants are free to elaborate on their initial efforts or do something else entirely. \nWe end the workshops with a gathering (coming together) of everyone and their work. Since the Pandemic she started working into them with a wide array of crazy materials and would love to share with others in that experience. She has made her own journals in a variety of ways and finds the process unique and creative. \nBring a collection of different papers\, a sketchbook/journal you would like to work into\, and any personal supplies you would prefer to use. It breeds excitement and enjoyment of the process. \nI like the mix of people and their art. \nIt is free and fun. \nI like that I can get into the flow of art and forget the stressful world. \nI look forward to stepping into another time and place. It is a magical experience to visit this special piece of land at the foot of Mt Tam. \nBeing with people who care about art and artists is something I find worthwhile. I feel lucky to have discovered this class. It informs me well beyond 4 hours on Saturday. \nThis Saturday workshop serves as a tool to open up all of my senses and I  come alive. \nThe setting is gorgeous and serene. \nI love Saturday class. I wouldn’t think of missing it. I come every Saturday\, and have for years and years.
