SUMMARY:Saturday Perception Workshop
DESCRIPTION:One of the core principles Ann O’Hanlon stressed was learning how to seeFor over 35 years – Saturdays have been a time to put that into practice. To experiment and discover.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Thank you to Ann Fricker and Noni Garner for organizing the return to the LOFT Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. \nThe morning starts with a simple exercise or prompt that informs the day. \n$25 non-members | $20 OHCA members. \nMaterials provided or bring your own. \n  \nAttendees must be fully vaccinated and Masks required indoors \nWorkshop will be held in the LOFT \nBeginners Expected! \n \n \n \n \n \n LOVING THE SATURDAY WORKSHOP\nThe long-running Visual Perception Workshop is at the heart of O’Hanlon Center. Recently we asked workshop participants for their thoughts. \nI love doing art with friends…and then sharing it! \nI love that it is a drop-in class and\nI don’t have to sign up ahead of time. \nI like that I don’t have to know how to do art…\nIt’s about our own creativity. \nIt is so much fun. \nI love the creative atmosphere. It breeds excitement and enjoyment of the process. \nI like the mix of people and their art. \nIt is free and fun. \nI like that I can get into the flow of art and forget the stressful world. \nI look forward to stepping into another time and place. It is a magical experience to visit this special piece of land at the foot of Mt Tam. \nBeing with people who care about art and artists is something I find worthwhile. I feel lucky to have discovered this class. It informs me well beyond 4 hours on Saturday. \nThis Saturday workshop serves as a tool to open up all of my senses and I  come alive. \nThe setting is gorgeous and serene. \nI love Saturday class. I wouldn’t think of missing it. I come every Saturday\, and have for years and years. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Monoprint w/ Candis Cousins – October 5\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n $20.00 – $25.00Price range: $20.00 through $25.00 \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n \n \n \n Member/Non-Member\n \n Choose an optionNon-memberOHCA MemberClear \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n Saturday Perception Workshop quantity\n	\n	\n\n	Add to cart

SUMMARY:Monoprinting – with Candis Cousins 1/12/25
DESCRIPTION:WE ARE OFFERING THIS WORKSHOP TWICE A MONTH \nMonoprinting is a playful\, exploratory process requiring neither a press nor a background in art\n \nOn a plate of gel or plexiglass\, images are made with paint\, rollers\, sponges\, netting\, leaves or anything else which might create an interesting pattern. The focus is not upon the finished work but upon the experience of discovery and making art. \nIn the workshop\, after two or three hours\, the group gathers to discuss what has been created.  The purpose of the discussion is to help each person recognize the beauty in their work. Or\, in the words of Ann O’Hanlon\, our purpose is “to look upon a seemingly random work of our own with interest” and with “the same fulfillment… experienced on an unknown wilderness trail.” \nNOTE: This Jan 12 workshop date was rescheduled from 1/19/25. \nSundays\, 10 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.\n$55 | $44 OHCA members + \n$10 materials fee paid to facilitator on day of workshop \n7 people MAX\n \nART DETAIL: JANET GREENWOOD\n \n\nAbout Candis Cousins \nCandis Cousins first came to the Center in 1972. Ann O’Hanlon was alive and at that time the Center was called ‘Sight and Insight.’ On Candis’ first day\, Ann’s suggestion for working was this: “Every decision you make\, try to make the wrong decision.” \nIn 2002\, Candis returned to OHCA to join the mono printing group led by Cayen Robertson and Karen Cox. In her own work\, Candis tries to keep moving forward without a plan\, just to see what comes. \n  \n“It is such an invigorating\, soul-finding experience to facilitate this workshop. A love-fest\, a laugh-fest on the high seas of creativity!” \n– Candis \n

SUMMARY:Sunday Family Art Day
DESCRIPTION:A monthly child-led art workshop with seasonal and nature themes layered into the activity\nwith Catherine Taylor Tai or Jackie La Lanne\nThe O’Hanlon Loft is a space for children (and grownups) to come get messy\, try new things and have fun. We will experiment with paint\, crayons\, glue\, glitter and found objects depending on the season and age of participants. \nWorkshop will take place in the O’Hanlon Loft Studio.\n \n$40 per family Plus $5 materials to be paid to facilitator day of event \n  \n  \n\nABOUT JACKIE \nJackie La Lanne retired at the end of 2021 from over 30 years teaching art in the Mill Valley School district. She is a former Board President of O’Hanlon. She graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio Art and a Masters Degree in Art Education. She loves teaching art and making photographs\, which she says have a lot in common: discovering\, making\, envisioning\, sharing\, and having fun. La Lanne\, who can often be found in the artroom wearing the earrings she made from her old bike lock keys\, has been teaching elementary art curriculum in Mill Valley public schools for many years. She is an accomplished artist\, teacher\, and photographer and has created wonderful collaborative textile projects for her five grandchildren. \n \n\nABOUT CATHERINE \nCatherine Taylor Tai is an artist\, mother and health coach. She has enjoyed raising her three children around the world from NYC to Singapore and now Northern California. \nShe is an advocate of forest school and the arts and loves when the two meet. Catherine also serves as the OHCA Board President. \n \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n  \n\n  \n \n \n\n	\n	\n \n\n\n	\n Sunday Family Art Day$60.00 \n\n	\n	\n \n \n Sunday Family Art Day quantity\n	\n	\n\n Add to cart\n\n \n\n	\n\n\n	\n	\n SKU: sunday-family-art\n\n	\n	Category: Youth and Family\n	\n	\n\n	\n\n	\n	\n \n \n \n Description \n \n \n \n \n	Description\n\nA monthly child-led art workshop with seasonal and nature themes layered into the activity.
