SUMMARY:Sunday Family Art Day
DESCRIPTION:A monthly child-led art workshop with seasonal and nature themes layered into the activity\nwith Catherine Taylor Tai or Jackie La Lanne\nThe O’Hanlon Loft is a space for children (and grownups) to come get messy\, try new things and have fun. We will experiment with paint\, crayons\, glue\, glitter and found objects depending on the season and age of participants.  \nWorkshop will take place in the O’Hanlon Loft Studio.\n \n$40 per family Plus $5 materials to be paid to facilitator day of event \n  \n  \n\nABOUT JACKIE \nJackie La Lanne retired at the end of 2021 from over 30 years teaching art in the Mill Valley School district. She is a former Board President of O’Hanlon. She graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio Art and a Masters Degree in Art Education. She loves teaching art and making photographs\, which she says have a lot in common: discovering\, making\, envisioning\, sharing\, and having fun. La Lanne\, who can often be found in the artroom wearing the earrings she made from her old bike lock keys\, has been teaching elementary art curriculum in Mill Valley public schools for many years. She is an accomplished artist\, teacher\, and photographer and has created wonderful collaborative textile projects for her five grandchildren. \n \n\nABOUT CATHERINE \nCatherine Taylor Tai is an artist\, mother and health coach. She has enjoyed raising her three children around the world from NYC to Singapore and now Northern California.  \nShe is an advocate of forest school and the arts and loves when the two meet. DESCRIPTION:Light\, tone\, line\, pattern\, mass\, perspective\, abstraction and composition\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				Mondays: 4:30 to 6:00 p.m. \n6 weeks\, non consecutive Mondays: \nJan 13\, 27\, Feb 3\, 10 & 24\, Mar 3 \nIn this 6-week series we will use a range of drawing materials. Each class will start with a warmup\, and then focus on translating three dimensional objects to a two-dimensional surface\, focusing on light\, tone\, line\, pattern\, mass\, perspective\, abstraction and composition \nMaximum 8 students \nA materials list will be emailed after registration \n$240 or $192 for OHCA members \n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				ABOUT LAUREL \nLaurel Shear lives and works in the California Bay Area. She opened her first New York solo show\, Daydreaming In My Nightmare\, at Fort Gansevoort in March 2018. Recent exhibitions include Right Here Right Now\, Richmond Art Center and NIAD (Richmond\, CA) My Silences Had Not Protected Me\, For Freedoms\, Fort Gansevoort\, (New York)\, Where Dreams Come True\, TSA LA (Los Angeles)\, Push\, Incline Gallery (San Francisco). She is a former member of the artist run gallery Tiger Strikes Asteroid in Los Angeles. Press for her work includes Artnet\, New York Magazine\, Brooklyn Magazine\, and Luxe Magazine\, among others. She facilitates drawing and painting workshops at O’Hanlon Center for the Arts and serves on the Board.
