DESCRIPTION:Perception Workshops Description\n			\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n			\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				\n				The Perception Workshops at O’Hanlon welcome all artists and the art-curious. Rather than focusing on formal principles or strict rules\, these workshops emphasize curiosity\, exploration\, and creative play. They spark imagination by encouraging learning through doing\, observation\, acceptance\, and practice. Participants are supported in taking risks\, experimenting freely\, and developing their own visual language in an open\, encouraging environment. \nEach session begins with a simple prompt or exercise. From there\, participants may build on their initial ideas or take them in entirely new directions. Sarah and Naomi enjoy the camaraderie of stitching with others. Both projects were juried into the annual O’Hanlon Fiber Arts Show: “Coral Reef”\, exhibited in 2024 and “Wild Garden”\, exhibited in 2025.In addition to crochet\, Sarah enjoys embroidering on paper and fabric\, as well as creating textile collages inspired by traditional quilting. Naomi likes to try all fiber arts\, but mainly crochets\, knits and sews\, when she’s not drawing or painting. Drawing on their distinct passions and skills\, Sarah and Naomi each bring a unique and inspiring stamp to their sewing and stitching projects.

She has been a long time facilitator at the O’Hanlon Center and loves talking with people about their art. \nCandis Cousins works in monoprint\, collage and drawing. For twelve years she was in the monoprint workshop led by Cayen Robertson. When Cayen stepped down five years ago\, Candis began facilitating the workshop.
