The focus is not upon the finished work but upon the experience of discovery and making art. \nIn the workshop\, after two or three hours\, the group gathers to discuss what has been created.  The purpose of the discussion is to help each person recognize the beauty in their work. Ann O’Hanlon was alive and at that time the Center was called ‘Sight and Insight.’ On Candis’ first day\, Ann’s suggestion for working was this: “Every decision you make\, try to make the wrong decision.” \nIn 2002\, Candis returned to OHCA to join the mono printing group led by Cayen Robertson and Karen Cox. The session will cover various methods for creating patterns on customized fabric\, and we will reference an Adinkra Symbolism chart to explore the meanings behind each symbol. \nAdinkra symbols are visual representations of concepts\, proverbs\, and philosophical ideas originating from the Akan people of Ghana and Côte d’Ivoire. They are used to communicate deep social\, spiritual\, and historical meanings\, often featuring on textiles\, art\, pottery\, architecture\, and jewelry to symbolize values like strength\, wisdom\, and unity. \nWhile fabric will be provided\, participants are welcome to bring personal items such as T-shirts\, trousers\, or other garments they wish to print on. \n$50 | $40 OHCA members.
