SUMMARY:Photo Transfer Workshop - Margot Harford
DESCRIPTION:Photo Transfer WorkshopFacilitated by Margot Harford\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Saturday\, April 25 | 11 AM – 4 PM \nThis workshop introduces the technique of image transfers — a process that allows you to move your digital files (photographs\, graphics\, or text) onto a variety of surfaces\, in either color or black and white. \nUsing transfer film printed with an inkjet printer and a specially prepared paste\, you’ll learn how to transfer your images onto surfaces such as paper\, wood\, metal\, and fabric. \nPrior to the class\, you will send the instructor eight of your own photographs (iPhone images are perfectly fine). These will be printed and prepared in advance so you’re ready to begin working as soon as the workshop starts. \nDuring the session\, we’ll cover essential materials\, where to source them\, and how to use them effectively. While you will be transferring onto paper and wood in class\, we will also discuss additional surface possibilities so you can continue experimenting on your own. \nFee: $275 Non-Members | $220 OHCA MembersMaterials Fee: $25 (payable to instructor) \nMaximum: 10 participants \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About Margot Harford \nMargot’s work is a mixture of fine art photography\, photo transfers and collage. The constant thread in her work is the addition of images using the photographs she has taken. \nAs a freelance photographer Margot has been photographing people and interiors for over 20 years. Her commercial photography style has seeped into her choice of fine art photography subjects\, which include people and architecture. \nMargot’s is represented by the Portland Art Gallery in Portland\, Maine. \nVisit her page: https://www.margothartford.com \n

SUMMARY:Postponed: Rhythm Collage Workshop - Facilitated by Barbara Carbone
DESCRIPTION:Rhythm Collage Workshop Facilitated by Barbara Carbone\n \n \n \n \n \n \n Thursday\, February 26 | 1:00 – 3:00 pm\nThere is an extraordinary choreography between the music we hear and the art we make. \nBoth art forms bring us together in new ways—whether we are listening to a trumpet player in a city park or sitting in a studio\, feeling the memory and inspiration of sound. In this workshop\, we don’t just listen to music; we use it as a blueprint for creation. \nWe will begin with the improvisational pulse of jazz\, using its unique rhythm to guide the way we tear\, layer\, and compose. Music will influence the “vibe” of your art. \nJoin us for this incredible\, multi-layered experience. Drink teas\, eat pastries and discover the rhythm of your own creative style and self. \nCost: $60\, $48 OHCA Members (plus $15 for material fee) \nMax: 10  \nMaterials: \n\nwatercolors\nsumi ink\npaper\ncanvas \nbrushes \nflowers \nsnacks  \n\n  \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n About our Facilitator \nBarbara Carbone is an artist and educator whose work explores the intersections of form\, color\, and emotion. Holding a Master’s in Education and a background in art\, sociology and anthropology\, she balances her personal practice with a passion for teaching at her Palette Bleu studio.  \nBarbara is currently introducing Rhythm\, a first-of-its-kind “traveling” workshop series that invites participants to explore human connection through tactile and visual storytelling.

She is currently Board President of of O’Hanlon. She graduated from Sonoma State University with a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts in Studio Art and a Masters Degree in Art Education. She loves teaching art and making photographs\, which she says have a lot in common: discovering\, making\, envisioning\, sharing\, and having fun. La Lanne\, who can often be found in the artroom wearing the earrings she made from her old bike lock keys\, has been teaching elementary art curriculum in Mill Valley public schools for many years. She is an accomplished artist\, teacher\, and photographer and has created wonderful collaborative textile projects for her five grandchildren. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Naomi Tamura is a visual artist based in Mill Valley\, California\, working in acrylic paint\, drawing media\, and photography. Her work blends representation with intuition\, exploring themes of memory\, emotion\, and atmosphere through expressive mark-making and the lens of a camera. A lifelong artist\, Tamura studied Studio Art at Scripps College and graphic design at ArtCenter College of Design\, leading to a 20-year career as a designer and art director. After stepping away from commercial work in 2011\, she returned to fine art with a renewed focus. Tamura’s creative practice reflects a range of influences—from the Bay Area Figurative Movement to Post-Impressionism and Abstract Expressionism. She has exhibited at the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts\, where she served as a former board chair\, and remains active in the local arts community. Photography plays a vital role in her process\, serving as both inspiration and a form of artistic expression.

SUMMARY:Saturday Perception Workshop
DESCRIPTION:One of the core principles Ann O’Hanlon stressed was learning how to seeFor over 35 years – Saturdays have been a time to put that into practice. To experiment and discover.\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Thank you to Ann Fricker and Noni Garner for organizing the return to the LOFT Saturdays from 10 am to 2 pm. \nThe morning starts with a simple exercise or prompt that informs the day. \n$25 non-members | $20 OHCA members. \nMaterials provided or bring your own. \nWorkshop will be held in the LOFT \nBeginners Expected! \n \n \n \n \n \n LOVING THE SATURDAY WORKSHOP\nThe long-running Visual Perception Workshop is at the heart of O’Hanlon Center. Recently we asked workshop participants for their thoughts. \nI love doing art with friends…and then sharing it! \nI love that it is a drop-in class and\nI don’t have to sign up ahead of time. \nI like that I don’t have to know how to do art…\nIt’s about our own creativity. \nIt is so much fun. \nI love the creative atmosphere. It breeds excitement and enjoyment of the process. \nI like the mix of people and their art. \nIt is free and fun. \nI like that I can get into the flow of art and forget the stressful world. \nI look forward to stepping into another time and place. It is a magical experience to visit this special piece of land at the foot of Mt Tam. \nBeing with people who care about art and artists is something I find worthwhile. I feel lucky to have discovered this class. It informs me well beyond 4 hours on Saturday. \nThis Saturday workshop serves as a tool to open up all of my senses and I  come alive. \nThe setting is gorgeous and serene. \nI love Saturday class. I wouldn’t think of missing it. I come every Saturday\, and have for years and years. \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n \n\n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n Surprise Yourself – Creation and Perception w/ CANDIS & CAYEN\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n $20.00 – $25.00Price range: $20.00 through $25.00 \n\n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n\n	\n \n \n \n Member/Non-Member\n \n Choose an optionNon-memberOHCA MemberClear \n \n \n \n \n \n \n \n	\n	\n Saturday Perception Workshop quantity\n	\n	\n\n	Add to cart

SUMMARY: Inside JUNK JOURNALING with Peller
DESCRIPTION:Junk journaling is a creative and mindful craft that blends scrapbooking and collaging\, serving as a heartfelt response to the fleeting nature of digital life. In a world dominated by screens and instant communication\, junk journaling invites you to slow down and reconnect with tangible\, physical materials—snipping\, gluing\, and layering to create meaningful art. \nBy transforming everyday “trash” like parking tickets\, luggage tags\, ticket stubs\, or even pieces of pizza boxes into beautiful collages\, you can discover the magic in the overlooked and discarded. It’s a fun challenge to seek out items you might normally toss away and repurpose them into personal journal entries or artistic pieces. \nAdopting a collector’s eye encourages mindfulness and observation\, inspiring you to notice the small ephemera of daily life—receipts\, labels\, snippets of wrapping paper—and see them as treasures waiting to be incorporated into your journal. \nJoin this creative journey to add a little magic and intentionality to your day-to-day life. Embrace the imperfect\, the transient\, and the beautiful in the ordinary through junk journaling—where one person’s junk becomes another’s treasured story. \nJoin me in adding a little magic to your day to day. \n \n
