As a former nine-year member of both Turtle Island Quartet and bassist Stanley Clarke’s band\, Mads has spent most of his professional life touring internationally. Mads has been featured on NPR’s Morning Edition\, and his recordings have received rave reviews in DownBeat Magazine\, Strings Magazine\, Washington Post and San Francisco Chronicle. He has performed with Chick Corea\, Ramsey Lewis\, Kenny Barron\, Paquito D’Rivera\, and he is a member of Bob Weir & Wolf Bros\, appearing on three album releases from Red Rocks and Radio City Music Hall. BURR \nJohn R. Burr is one of the most in-demand pianists around the Bay Area. He has toured extensively with Maria Muldaur and The Alison Brown Quartet. Naomi likes to try all fiber arts\, but mainly crochets\, knits and sews\, when she’s not drawing or painting. Drawing on their distinct passions and skills\, Sarah and Naomi each bring a unique and inspiring stamp to their sewing and stitching projects.

DESCRIPTION:CBD is a four-piece folk band built on shared voices\, mutual respect\, and a deep love of song.  This Bay Area Supergroup brings together songwriters Claudia Russell and Christopher Smith\, multi-instrumentalist Bruce Kaplan\, and bassist Daniel Patrick. With two distinctive writers at its core and an eclectic sound that draws on Original tunes\, Americana\, and bluegrass traditions\, CBD plays with the ease of old friends and the spark of something new.
