Printmaking Many Ways
March 18, 2016 @ 11:00 am - 2:00 pm
An event every week that begins at 11:00 am on Friday, repeating until June 24, 2016
ELAINE NEHM
This is printmaking at its best, utilizing a fun spontaneous process. Monotypes and monoprints are a “one only” print technique. Both beginning and experienced artists will get caught by “print magic” since every print holds a surprise. Two approaches will be offered in these workshops with and without the use of an etching press. Experimentation will be encouraged with both.
One approach is the “painterly” print using an acrylic plate, water soluble printing inks, and the etching press. Use of the press, registration, multiple-drop and both direct and in-direct methods will be offered explored. Relief printing and collagraphs will also be investigated.
The second option is printing without the use of the press. This will be printing with acrylics using a Gelli plate. Other processes will include pressure, and relief printing, and clay printing.
A different process will be introduced each Friday. Come to one or all classes.
Must RSVP by Wednesday preceding the Friday’s workshop.
