An event every week that begins at 10:00 am on Friday, repeating until May 29, 2020

Our focus is playful, inspiration-based and experimental.

This class welcomes beginners and experienced printmakers alike to explore a variety of expressive printmaking techniques or continue upon an already established path. Learn about monotype, intaglio, relief and experimental techniques in addition to having lots of tools, materials and color-rich inks to play with.

Towards the end of each class, the group gathers to discuss their creations and process.

Pigment-rich inks that clean up quickly with water are used – providing a safe and breathable studio environment. 

May 8 – Monotype I
focusing on additive techniques, using organic materials

May 15 – Monotype II
focusing on subtractive techniques

May 22 – Intro to Relief Printmaking
using foam board and easy to cut linoleum

May 28 – Intro to Intaglio Printmaking
using foam board, mylar, and soft plastic sheets

ELIZABETH ADDISON is a Berkeley-based visual artist, educator and curator whose widely collected works are included in The California Endowment permanent collection and numerous public and private collections. She is the exhibitions chair for Northern California Women’s Caucus for Art, an artist-in-residence at Kala Institute, and creator of the Printmaking Program at Rossmoor Art Association. Her primary media include printmaking and multi-media installation. Informed by the relationship between science, nature and artistic vision, Addison invokes a sense of the numinous at their intersection.
