Art is a Way of Knowing (on Zoom) w/ PEGGY LILIENTHAL LINDEN

October 9, 2022 @ 10:00 am - 2:00 pm

Art is a means to enter, to play with, to dance with, to wrestle with anything that intrigues, delights, disturbs or terrifies us.

– PAT B. ALLEN, introduction, Art Is a Spiritual Path

This short series of drop-in classes offers a space for art making as personal inquiry. Using journaling and art making we open to our “‘Creative Source.” Total beginners and experienced artists are welcome. Please have art making materials of your choice and a journal for the workshop.

The session will provide the setting for you to explore your own creative work. This is a time to be open to exploring, adventuring, trying something new (or old), and expressing your intuition, imagination, thoughts or beliefs. From past sessions participants have reported an expanded a sense of clarity, expressing themselves more creatively, and increased insight into themselves.

This Zoom workshop is for 10 people max.

Second Sunday of each month through December 2022,
10:00 – 2:00 Pacific Time,
1:00 – 5:00 East Coast Time.

$40, $35 OHCA members, per session

Register and Peggy will send you the invite link.

Please read Zoom prerequisite before signing up.*

*Participants should be familiar with Zoom – how to use the chat, how to mute and un-mute, how to toggle between video and audio only. Ensuring your web-cam and microphone are working beforehand is essential. Having earbuds or a headset is helpful if you don’t have a private space from which to participate.

Participants need to provide their own art materials and a journal. Take time to create a sacred space, comfortable and free from distractions. Having a water bottle at hand is helpful. Art materials can be really simple or elaborate. It is a great practice to improvise with what is available.

It is requested that participants stay until the end of the session in order to preserve the “alchemical container”. Sharing words and images at the end of the session is an important part of the practice. When we create a group “field” together, the words or imagery that arise for any one person may have important meaning for other members of the group. The more we practice together the more connection and synchronicity we invite.

PEGGY LINDEN – Embodiment Coaching: Combining Coaching, Creativity & the Body

Biography

Peggy Linden studied with and was mentored by Ann O’Hanlon during her 20’s and 30’s and this launched her into the world of art. Peggy had the privilege of being invited to Ann’s cabin at Lake Tahoe for a week at a time on two separate occasions where all she was ‘allowed to do’ was paint all day on Ann’s deck.

Peggy also studied with Josef Albers and Josep Grau-Garigga. Peggy’s mother was Windy Lilienthal, the fiber-artist. They attended Ann’s workshops together. Peggy’s former husband, David Linden was the attorney who incorporated the O’Hanlon Center for the Arts.

Peggy combines her career as a CranioSacral Therapist (a hands-on-healing modality) with her work as a Certified Resilient Leadership Coach and an artist. Her Visual Journaling Art Workshops have elements of coaching built into them, while also using body awareness for grounding.

Peggy holds a Masters in Adult Education and has completed a majority of all classes for her PH.D.
