Ekphrasis: Writings inspired by Art & Art inspired by Writings
Ekphrasis or ecphrasis, from the Greek for the description of a work of art produced as a rhetorical exercise, often used in the adjectival form ekphrastic, is a vivid, often dramatic, verbal description of a visual work of art, either real or imagined. Ekphrasis art is artwork inspired from writings.
Before class Dan will be distributing some short texts, poems, song lyrics. Participants will choose one or more as an inspiration for an artwork. He will be supplying collage materials but if you want to bring along your own you are more than welcome. Or bring whatever you need to create your art in whatever two-dimensional medium you prefer.
Beginners welcome.
SORRY WORKSHOP CANCELLED. STAY TUNNED FOR REBOOKING.
