DESCRIPTION:

It’s time to move your digital artwork out of the Virtual Realm!

These days many people only show their work on a phone or computer screen…

Now is your chance to bring those creations into the physical world.

Please submit work created or enhanced on a computer or other electronic device, including digital photography. Risk-taking, digital manipulation and enhancement is encouraged!

ELIGIBILITY: Open to artists ages 16 & over.

MEDIA: Digitally created or digitally manipulated works only.

  • Open to all artists age 16 and over.
  • Submission limit: 3 works per artist. (Diptychs/Triptychs are counted as one work.)
  • Please do not submit works previously displayed in the O’Hanlon Gallery.

SIZE:  No size restrictions. You’ll be asked to enter framed size when you submit images online, even if you have not yet printed your works. Regarding larger works, if you wish to submit works over 36” in any dimension, we recommend also submitting at least one smaller work, if possible. While our Gallery walls are quite expansive, we can usually include only a few over-large works in any individual show.

Contemporary, expressionistic, abstract, exploratory, and/or experimental entries encouraged.
O’Hanlon Center for the Arts emphasizes the creative process and the continued pursuit of meaning and authenticity through observation, exploration, and experimentation.

This is a JURIED SHOW: not all works submitted for consideration will be selected for the exhibition. The online Jury process is blind, artist names will not be visible to the jurors.

ENTRY PROCESS & DATES:

For this show, we’ll use an Online Entry Only process.  Note: This is currently one of only 2 shows in our Exhibition Calendar for which we accept & require digital submissions.

ONLINE DIGITAL SUBMISSIONS ONLY

July 26 – August 22, 2019 (Entry period closes at 12 Midnight on Thursday, August 22)

Payment: Online payment via credit/debit card with your artwork submission is required.

Artists will be notified by Friday, September 7, 6 p.m. whether their pieces should be hand delivered to O’Hanlon Center. (see below) This will allow 2 weeks for artists to prepare their works before delivery, if printing and/or framing is necessary.

Vaidis Valaitis  “With a background in sculpture and photography, and coming from a computer-related career, I was fascinated with digital media and quickly drawn to it.

“The quick advancement of digital art programs provided not only the opportunity to draw and paint but also reproduce the effects of multiple media such as oils, acrylics, and watercolors, and even combine these in a single painting, then Digital 3D came next.

“For the last 15 years my journey and evolution through the ever-changing media of digital fine art continues to challenge, inspire, and fascinate me.”  www.vaidisart.com
